On Wednesday, July 15-17, young area football stars will be able to participate in the first annual Ascension Catholic Football Skills camp.

The cost for the three-day camp is $65.

Prospective campers must be students from K-8th grades and must attend Ascension Catholic, St. Elizabeth, St. Theresa or St. John of Plaquemine.

The camps start at 8:30 a.m. and run through 12:30 p.m. each day. All campers will receive t-shirts and all are required to bring cleats. Water will be supplied and a jambalaya lunch will be provided on the last day of camp.

The camp will take place at the Ascension Catholic practice field on the corner of St. Vincent Street and Williams Street in Donaldsonville.

“Our football camp is very productive,” head coach Drey Trosclair said. “We want all of our campers to feel like they have learned different aspects about the game of football each day they participate in our camp. Not only will the fundamentals be taught, but the love and passion of the game will be expressed through our coaches as they work with our campers.”

The camp staff will be composed of the Ascension Catholic varsity football coaches, and they will focus on offensive and defensive drills for every position. Registration sheets must be filled out and returned by Wednesday, July 8.
