Aubrey Delatte was in Houston, Texas, recently participating in the team championship with local and regional facilitator Mark Peters and her family. Peters is also director of Hope Youth Development, Inc. in Ascension parish.

Delatte came in third place in the girl's 7-8-year-old bracket. Peters was happy that one of the local kids was able to be chosen to compete. Peters volunteers in Houston every year with Major League Baseball's Pitch, Hit & Run competition.

Michael Mims was the only other child from Louisiana to be selected by having the best scores out of tri-state. He is from New Orleans and made the trip with his dad.

After competition on Sunday morning, the participants were all given tickets to attend an Astros game with family as they played the Chicago White Sox.
