The Braves went 4-1 throughout the tournament--coming from behind in three of their four victories.

The Ascension Braves 12U AA team took first place in the 2015 Tiger Town Showdown held at Oak Villa Park last weekend. This was their first tournament together as a team.

They went 4-1 over the weekend, having trailed in three of their four wins. The team’s performance was led by their three senior members: Alston Rivera, Broc Becnel and Gentry Durbin.

Alston pitched six and 1/3 innings over the weekend and batted .500 with seven hits--including a double and a triple.

Broc Becnel pitched five and 2/3 innings over the weekend and hit a two-run double in the first elimination game to seal the victory.

Gentry Durbin smashed a walk-off line-drive to win the semifinal game after trailing 3-0. The tying run of that game was scored by Mason Morgan on a suicide squeeze bunt laid down by Blake Lebouef.

Jasen Templet locked down right field in the championship game, providing two key outs and a close play at the plate. Justin Hawkins, Landen Smith and Mason Morgan rounded out the pitching for the Braves' tournament play.

Landen Smith batted .500 for the weekend--including three bunts, and Collin Dupre batted .429 with seven RBIs.

It was an incredible team effort and was exhilarating to watch.
