Ascension Rays win big at Global World Series

The Ascension Rays baseball organization participated in the USSSA Global World Series in Orange Beach, Ala. last month.

The Rays-Blue team captured the overall championship, and the Rays-Gray team were the champion runners-up in the blue bracket. These remarkable accomplishments topped off an already outstanding regular season.

Rays-Blue competed in the 11u majors division and captured three tournament titles, including the Grand Slam LA State Championship and the USSSA LA Governors Games and were USSSA LA State Champion runners-up.

Rays-Gray competed in the 11u AAA Division and also captured three tournament victories-USSSA tournaments "Rivault Rumble" and "Cypress Spectacular NIT" and the Grand Slam "Diamond Demolition." The Rays would like to express their sincere appreciation for the support and dedication of their coaches, sponsors, parents, families and friends.

The Rays are holding tryouts for the 2013 summer, fall and 2014 seasons.

The Rays organization is composed of two teams that will compete at a very high level in 12-year-old tournament baseball.

If potential players have not attended a tryout yet, there is a final tryout this Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Ascension Christian High School baseball field. Eligible players must be 12 years old or younger on April 30, 2014.
