Dream Day celebrates Fishin' Galore Event

The 2013 Fishin' Galore Event held in Clinton enjoyed an amazing turnout with over 1,000 patients and family members from St. Jude showing up for a day of fishing and outdoor fun as Dream Day Foundation celebrated the 19th anniversary of the event.
Over 135 patients from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital along with close members of their family and Dream Day volunteers enjoyed the festivities of the 19th Annual Fishin' Galore event. It was a day of fishing, food and fun that no one will soon forget with beautiful weather and beautiful smiles from everyone in attendance.
The day was hosted by the Dream Day Foundation based in Baton Rouge, corporate sponsors and hundreds of volunteers from the greater Baton Rouge community who provide the St. Jude patients and their families a day away from illness, hospitals, needles and the anxiety that many patients suffer.
The event offered bass fishing, pond fishing, archery, a petting zoo, motorcycle and four-wheel riding, Home Depot project building, arts and crafts, face painting, riding a manned lift, helicopter rides and a photo booth to capture memories from the amazing day. Food and activities were free for all attending.
Marty Engquist, Chairman of the Event, was pleased with the amazing turnout. She just kept saying over and over again, "it's all about the kids."
