Bayou Teche Museum is pleased to announce the First Annual Dave Robicheaux Running of the Bulls 5K Race on Nov. 17 to start the First Annual El Festival Español. The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until the festival's opening ceremonies.

James Lee Burke has kindly given permission to use Dave Robicheaux's name, as the race will take place in downtown New Iberia, and the runners will be passing many locations mentioned in Mr. Burke's novels.

Mr. Burke is also graciously mentioning the inaugural race on his Facebook page, and out-of-state "Dave Robicheaux" fans have sent in numerous emails to say they are coming to race and even volunteer.

The town is thrilled that runners and their families will be coming to their town and visiting their museum, many for the first time.

You can be a vital part of the fun and excitement of this inaugural event by signing on as a founding sponsor. Just mention this story at the door as your "ticket" to discover many unknown facts about New Iberia and the surrounding region.
