Former LSU Tiger and NFL player Brian Kinchen will be attending Ascension Cougars youth football practice on Tuesday to introduce the team to the Heads-Up program.

It will take place at the Gonzales Middle School on Tuesday from 6-7 p.m.

He will visit with teams, coaches and parents from 6-6:35.

Kinchen is just one of 100 former NFL players participating in the program as Heads-Up Football Ambassadors, working with youth leagues to reinforce the Heads-Up message.

Each ambassador will work alongside youth leagues this fall, attending practices and games to promote a better and safer game and endorse the Heads-Up program.

The program provides youth players, parents and coaches with instruction on techniques that teach safer tackling mechanics designed to reduce helmet contact.
