J.J. Hickson scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Wilson Chandler also scored 19 points and the Denver Nuggets used a strong third quarter to pull away from the New Orleans Pelicans 102-93 last night.

Denver's 5-foot-9 guard Nate Robinson had two blocked shots, one short of his career high. They were his first two blocks of the season.

Robinson had 14 points off the bench for Denver, which had five players score at least 12 points.

Ryan Anderson led New Orleans with a game-high 26 points, and Austin Rivers chipped in with a season-high 17 for the Pelicans.

The teams had identical shooting nights from the field (37-for-85) and 3-point range (7-for-24), but Denver held a 21-12 advantage in made free throws.

The game was close in the third when the Nuggets clamped down on defense to pull away. They forced New Orleans to miss seven straight shots and turned them over twice during an 8-0 run that made it 71-62. The Pelicans didn't get closer than six the rest of the way.
