The LA Empire 10u Purple team recently competed in the USSSA World Series in Alabama and won the top bracket of the series.

Beating out 53 other teams, this group of 10 boys went a perfect 7-0 and outscored their competition by a combined score of 67-7 throughout the course of the tournament.

Led by coaches Branson Bowen and Clint Ponvelle, Empire’s spectacular defense and incredible hitting led them to the victory. The team combined for a batting average of .458, including four home runs. Pitching combined to build an ERA of 1.30.

Competing against teams from Louisiana, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee and Mississippi, the boys persevered and demonstrated the meaning of teamwork by bringing home the gold, even though they have only been playing ball together for six months.

The Empire organization would like to thank the coaches, family and friends who supported them throughout the season and look forward to their continued support.
