EA finishes 8th, Dutchtown finishes 10th at State Wrestling Tournament

No team from the parish was able to win the top prize, but East Ascension and Dutchtown both faired well at the LHSAA State Wrestling Tournament over the weekend.
Brother Martin was the big winner followed by Jesuit and Catholic, but East Ascension collected 116 points to finish eighth, and Dutchtown collected 85 total points to finish 10th. St. Amant wasn't able to earn a top-10 finish, but they did score well at No. 16.
In the consolation round, Jesuit's Ben D'Antonio won a 3-0 decision over East Ascension's Alex Betteridge. The Spartans' Conor Karwath was pinned in 2:30 by Zachary Mangrum.
As for Dutchtown, the Griffins' Brandon Cowell was beaten by Brother Martin's Tyler Robertson by a 6-4 decision.
