With the volleyball season finally wrapped up, the All-District 3-5A team was announced last week, and the parish was very well-represented.

Along with being selected to the first team, St. Amant's Toni Rodriguez was named District MVP.

Rodriguez helped the Lady Gators amass a 34-6 record for the season and No. 2 seed heading into the playoffs. They made it to the State Voleyball Tournament before getting upset by Northshore in the quarterfinals.

Some of her teammates that joined her on the all-district team were Alaina Decoteau and Brooke deVeer. Both girls were first-team selections.

Kelly Young made it to the second team, and Shayli Schutz and Kara Gremillion were both honorable mention players.

As for district runner-up East Ascension, Alecia Gutierrez and Tori Vincik were both honored with first-team selections. They helped lead the Lady Spartans to a 37-6 record and No. 7 seed in the playoffs. Just like St. Amant, their season was ended by an upset-minded Northshore squad.

Carmisha Peyton was a second-team selection, and Gabrielle Gutierrez was honorable mention.

Dutchtown's Casey Cannon and Melissa Bailey earned second-team honors, and Jordan Logarbo was honorable mention. They led the Lady Griffins to the second round of the playoffs where they lost to St. Amant.
