Ascension Christian fell in straight sets to St. John yesterday. Once falling in the opening set, the Lady Lions made a hard charge to extend the match, but they fell just short in the second and third sets by scores of 25-23 and 28-26.

Jessica Brown of St. John led the game in kills with eight.

Ascension Christian's Reyna Jones put up a great all-around effort as she produced five aces, five kills and 16 digs. Sidney Sehon had four kills and seven digs, and Victoria Schexnayder collected 16 assists.

The loss drops the Lady Lions to 13-7 overall, but they still remain a perfect 8-0 in district play.

They'll try to bounce back and get back into the win column tonight as they face LSD at home for a 6 p.m. match.
