St. Amant and Ascension Christian roll

The St. Amant and Ascension Christian volleyball teams rolled to victories this past week. The Lady Gators beat 4A's Assumption 3-0 while Ascension Christian shut out Southern Lab by the same mark.

Last Thursday, the Lady Lions got their win with scores of: 25-14, 25-23 and 25-15 to improve their record to 4-3 with an unblemished 2-0 district mark.

Reyna Jones led the way with five aces, three digs and nine kills while Victoria Schexnayder racked up a team-high 10 assists.

Ascension Christian will try to jump to 5-3 tomorrow night on the road as they visit St. John at 5 p.m.

As for St. Amant, they rolled out to a 9-2 start last Saturday morning as they blanked Assumption by scores of: 25-19, 25-19 and 25-23.

Toni Rodriguez had another stellar all-around effort with 13 kills, one ace, two digs and five blocks. Brook de Veer added 12 kills and three digs while Kelly Young piled up 30 assists.
