Last year, UL-Lafayette's softball program received a commitment from Kara Gremillion. This year, they got one from her younger sister, Kourtney.

St. Amant senior Kourtney Gremillion made her commitment to the school after a recruiting visit last weekend.

When she signs, she will once again become teammates with sister Kara.

Kara had one of the most heralded athletic careers in the history of the school.

During her senior season, she was named first-team All-State. She was named the Baton Rouge area's female Athlete of the Year for a second time, and she was also named Gatorade Louisiana Softball Player of the Year.

At the team's softball banquet back in August, she became just the fifth Lady Gator softball player to ever have her jersey retired.

Now, she has continued her career at UL-Lafayette. At this time next year, she'll be playing alongside her sister.

Along with her sister, Kourtney will also be playing with another former Ascension standout in Dutchtown alum Aleah Craighton.

Like Kara, Kourtney is a multi-sport athlete. In addition to being a softball standout, she is also a first-team all-district volleyball player.

In her junior softball season, Kourtney had a huge year as she helped lead St. Amant to another district title and an undefeated regular season.

The Lady Gators reached the state semifinals with a perfect 27-0 mark before getting upset by eventual state champion Sam Houston.

The first basemen did plenty of damage from the plate as she hit .540 with nine home runs and 39 RBIs.

She was named first-team all-district and also first-team All-Metro. To top it all off, she also made the All-State first team.

Gremillion will ink her letter of intent during the early signing period next month.
