Two parish girl's soccer teams make playoffs

The LHSAA girl's softball playoff brackets were released today and both Dutchtown and St. Amant made the field.

The Dutchtown Lady Griffins earned the higher seed of the two teams. They'll enter the playoffs as the No. 9 seed in Division I.

Dutchtown finished the regular season with an 11-5-3 record. Although, they did win four of their final five games, and they haven't lost since Jan. 15.

In the first round, they'll host No. 24 H.L. Bourgeois, who went 14-8-1 during the regular season.

St. Amant is the 11th seed.

The Lady Gators went 15-6-2 during the regular season and won the district title. They head into the playoffs winners of eight of their last nine games.

In the opening round, they'll host No. 22 Sulphur. Sulphur went 11-9-3 during the regular season. One of those losses was a 1-0 defeat against St. Amant back on Nov. 23.
