Ascension Athlete of the Week

This week’s Weekly Citizen Athlete of the Week, brought to you by Rouses Market, is junior Mya Guillory of St. Amant.

Guillory had a sensational performance in her team’s blowout victory over No. 13 Airline in the second round of the playoffs. In the final 20 minutes of the first half, she scored four straight goals for the Lady Gators.

The flurry helped St. Amant make their second straight state quarterfinal appearance.

She then followed that up by scoring her team's only goal in their 1-0 win over Byrd. The victory pushed them through to the semifinals for the first time since 2004.
