Ascension Athlete of the Week

This week’s Weekly Citizen Athlete of the Week, brought to you by Rouses Market, is senior goalkeeper Christian Carrillo of Dutchtown.

Carrillo came up huge for the Griffins in their 4-1 first-round playoff victory over Hammond.

He pitched a shutout for the first 74 minutes of the game. Hammond sent 11 shots his way throughout the contest, and Carrillo came up with nine saves.
