It may be a long time before the 2015 soccer season kicks off, but players are still getting recognition for the year that has just passed.

Recently, the Louisiana Soccer Coaches Association released their All-State boy's soccer teams, and three St. Amant Gators were selected.

St. Amant had a tremendous regular season as they finished with the best record in the parish at 14-6-3. That solid mark earned them the No. 16 seeding.

They hosted a first-round playoff game against district foe Baton Rouge High. It's there that their postseason run came to an early close as they endured a tough 3-2 defeat.

Leading the charge for the Gators was sophomore Briggs Bourgeois. The three-sport star scored 23 goals and dished out 16 assists throughout the season.

He was the parish's only first-team selection on the LSCA All-State team. Bourgeois was also an all-district and All-Metro selection. And for the second straight year, he was named the district's Overall MVP.

Two of Bourgeois' teammates were named to the LSCA Freshman All-State first team in Brendan David and defender Hector Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was a first-team selection on both the All-Metro and all-district teams.

St. Amant looks to be serious contenders next season as they bring back all three ultra-talented players as well as all-district standouts Trey Cutrer, Seth Benoit and Anthony Naya.
