One day after the LHSAA girl's soccer playoff brackets were released, the boy's teams were able to see where they fell into the mix for the postseason.

Two Ascension squads made the playoffs in district rivals St. Amant and Dutchtown.

The Gators ended the season well--winning three of their final four matches.  Prior to their loss against McKinley in the finale, they hadn't tasted defeat in nearly a month.

The strong play earned them the higher seed at No. 16.  They'll host No. 17 Baton Rouge High in the opening round.

The two are actually district foes.  They split games during the regular season.  The Bulldogs won the first matchup emphatically at 4-0, and St. Amant won the second match 3-2.

The Gators finished the regular season 14-6-3 and 7-4-1 in the district.  Baton Rouge finished 10-5-8 and 6-2-4 in the district.

As for Dutchtown, they are the No. 20 seed.  The Griffins finished the regular season 12-9-2 and 4-6-2 in the district.

For their first-round matchup, they will have to make the long trip up north to face No. 13 West Monroe.  They finished the year with an impressive record of 17-3-4.
