EA and St. Amant get girls soccer wins

The East Ascension girls soccer team made it look exceptionally easy last week as they blanked Thibodaux 9-0.

St. Amant might not have been as dominant, but they were certainly impressive in a 3-0 win over Zachary on Monday night.

The Lady Spartan scoring barrage was sphere-headed by two magnificent performances from Ally Miller and Rebecca Austin.

Miller amazingly knocked in four goals while Austin was right behind with the hat trick of three scores.

To finish the onslaught, Blaire Laiche and Vanessa Bernal each chipped in with one goal.

Defensively, Ana Britton and Lynda Bolan had a laid back day. They were only forced to make one save apiece.

Avery Theriot of Thibodaux made 17 saves, but that didn't stop East Ascension from racking up a ridiculous nine goals.

The crushing victory improved the Lady Spartans to a mark of 4-1-1.

Since then, their record has gone to 5-2-1 after Tuesday night's 3-0 win over Dutchtown.

As for St. Amant, Destiny Bourgeois knocked in two goals, and Maddie Edmonston had another.

When it came to saves, Kaitlyn Young led the Lady Gators with four of them.

The win improved St. Amant to an impressive record of 4-1.
