Parish's golf and tennis stars earn All-Metro honors

The year's final Baton Rouge area All-Metro teams were released last week for both golf and tennis. There were a few student-athletes from the parish that made the cut.
When it came to the All-Metro golf team, one of the parish's only members was Dutchtown's Joey Partin-- who made it for the Division I-II squad. This past year, Partin achieved a league average of 3.2 strokes above par.
The only other Ascension star to make the All-Metro team for golf was Ascension Catholic's Tucker Landry. Landry made the Division III-IV team on the strength of having a nine-hole average of .50 below par and finishing sixth at the state tournament.
In the sport of tennis, Ascension Christian's Landon Walker was named honorable mention All-Metro. Walker made the semifinals at this year's state championships in Monroe.
His teammate Keenan Johnson was also an honorable mention All-Metro player for the girls. Johnson is a back-to-back state champion and Central Florida signee.
Finally, St. Amant's Kelly Young and Victoria Buquet were both named to the All-Metro first team in doubles. The two made it to the regional quarterfinals during the year and compiled an overall record of 7-5.
