Just one day after teammate Stephen Sullivan de-committed from LSU, Donaldsonville defensive tackle Tyarise Stevenson decided to follow suit.

On Aug. 17, Stevenson officially de-committed from Tulane.

Stevenson went to Twitter to explain his decision. His reasons for de-committing were very similar to those Sullivan gave the day earlier.

"I have decided to de-commit from the University of Tulane," Stevenson said. "It's a wonderful school, and the program is awesome. The coaching staff treats me like family, but things happen for a reason. I kind of made a decision too early. This is kind of hard to do, but I want to make sure it's the right decision for me.

"Tulane was basically my first offer. I want to enjoy the recruiting process and make the decision that's best for my future. My next decision will be my last."

The "Big Cat" had a breakout year in 2014--earning all-district honors as both an offensive and defensive lineman.

He quickly began to garner attention from scouts, and the offers begin to pour in at the end of the season.

Stevenson has received seven offers overall.

Besides Tulane, he has also received attention from schools such as Texas Tech, UL-Monroe, UL-Lafayette and Central Florida.

He committed to Tulane back in June. However, he did receive an additional offer from Southern earlier this month.

Stevenson will be a big part of the Donaldsonville defense in 2015.

He'll anchor an experienced defensive line, along with Sullivan at defensive end.

Sullivan was the first Tiger to de-commit a day earlier when he cut ties with LSU after committing to the school last summer.

He says that LSU is still in the mix, but he is now considering offers from TCU, Auburn and Mississippi State.

The two highly-touted players are hoping to lead the Tigers to the playoffs for the third straight season under head coach Benny Guilbeaux.

Donaldsonville will go on the road on Friday night to play St. James for their jamboree.

On Sept. 4, they'll officially began the 2015 season with a non-district home matchup against Assumption.
