The postseason honors continued to come in for Dutchtown's standout safety Justin Reid last week as he earned honorable mention honors on the 5A All-State team. He was the only Ascension star to make the team this year.

Reid has followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Eric--a Pro Bowl safety for the 49ers. He has garnered the interest of many big-time college programs--including LSU, Notre Dame, Stanford and TCU.

He has even received offers from Brown and Yale of the Ivy League. In addition to being a tremendous talent, Reid is also a phenomenal student--making a 30 on his ACT.

In his senior season, Dutchtown had their struggles--finishing 4-6 and getting dropped in the first round of the playoffs, but Reid was a constant at safety. He was also named first-team All District 5-5A.
