The latest LHSAA football power rankings were released today with some movement between parish teams.

In class 5A, East Ascension remains the highest ranked squad from the parish, but their 57-34 setback to St. Amant dropped them nine spots all the way to No. 16.

The Spartans currently stand at 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the district. They'll visit sixth-ranked Catholic this week.

Despite having an identical record and beating East Ascension by 23 on Friday night, the Gators still sit behind them in the No. 22 spot.

St. Amant has now won two straight games after a three-game skid, and they have a chance to climb up the polls even higher if they can beat Dutchtown on the road this Friday night.

Speaking of the Griffins, they land at No. 25. They ended a two-game losing streak Friday night when they held on to beat McKinley 22-20.

The win improved them to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in district play.

In Division IV, Ascension Christian landed at No. 24 in this week's rankings.

The Lions shut out East Iberville 26-0 on Friday night to capture their third win--giving them their most single-season victories in school history.

Ascension Christians is 3-6 overall, and they're set to host St. John this Friday night.
