It's Tuesday, so that means the latest LHSAA power rankings have been released for both football and volleyball.

For football, there were some serious reshuffling in the 5A class rankings.

Once again, East Ascension has taken the best ranking in the parish. The 5-3 Spartans made the jump from No. 10 to No. 7 this week after their big 36-30 overtime win over Dutchtown on Friday night.

After the Griffins' second straight loss dropped them to just 3-5, they have fallen from 21st to 24th.

St. Amant was reeling after three straight defeats but after a thrilling 28-24 come-from-behind victory over Woodlawn on the road, the Gators have made a big jump from 31st to No. 22.

At 4-4, they'll host archrival East Ascension this Friday night as Dutchtown hosts McKinley.

In volleyball, once again, St. Amant remains at the No. 4 spot. The Lady Gators are 24-10 overall and have wrapped up the district title with a perfect 6-0 mark.

Dutchtown also remained in the same spot at No. 11. The Lady Griffins are 22-15 overall and 4-2 within the district.

As for East Ascension, the Lady Spartans moved up two spots from No. 15 to No. 13 after a strong showing last week. They are 24-14 overall and 4-3 in the district.
