Sarrazin and Elias make 5A All-State team

This year, only two Ascension players had the honor of being named to the All-State team, and they're both Griffins.
Dutchtown kicker and punter Tyler Sarrazin made first-team All-State for his exceptional punting performances throughout the year.
The senior averaged nearly 41 yards a kick in a season where his Griffins went 7-2, finished second in the district and reached the second round of the playoffs. Their postseason run was ended by a team in Rummel that went on to finish undefeated and win the state championship.
Sarrazin was also named first-team All-District 5-5A punter and kicker last week.
Joining Sarrazin on the All-State team was David Elias--who was the anchor of Dutchtown's defensive line. Elias and the Griffin defensive unit was the strength of their team and only gave up 16 points a game during the regular season.
The senior was an honorable mention All-State selection. Last week, he was not only named first-team All-District 5-5A defensive lineman, but he was also named the district's Defensive MVP.
