Sophomore Logan Byars competes for St. Amant in the St. Joseph's Invitational.

On Oct. 3, St. Amant High's cross-country team participated in the St. Joseph Invitational at Highland Road Park.

Running in five different races, nearly every Gator runner set a new personal record, or at least a season-best time. A mid-season precursor to the state meet, St. Amant continues to improve each week.

During this meet, Brendan Outlaw (Fr.) set a new school record for the two-mile race with a time of 12:36.0. Senior Lloren Lawrence set a new personal record of 22:37.5, moving into fifth position in the STA XC Elite Club.

A new record for the best team average of 19:10.6 was set by team members Eber Rivas (Sr.), Austin Parent (Jr.), Theo Swindell (Sr.), Matthew Rosendale (Jr.) and Trevor Serpas (Sr.).

The Gators will run next at the Catholic Invitational on Oct. 10, at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge.
