St. Amant cross-country teams compete over the weekend

St. Amant's cross-country team competed in the Episcopal Round Table Run on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge.

Lloren Lawrence led the Lady Gators with a time of 24:12, Addie Gaffney in her first meet of the season followed with a time of 24:30.

Setting a personal record for the second week was Alyssa Swindell with a time of 25:41.

Also running for the girl's team at the meet were juniors: Cristina Colon, Jillian Parks, Valentina Nunez and Katelyn Buhler.

The Gators boy's team was again led to the finish line by senior Theo Swindell with a time of 19:42 and Nathan Carmouche--also a senior--with a time of 19:50.

Sophomores Garrett Parks and Matthew Savoy both set personal records for the second week in a row with times of 22:56 and 24:21, respectively.

Also running in the varsity race were: Eber Rivas (senior), Matthew Rosendale (junior), Austin Parent (junior) and Trevor Serpas (senior).

In the junior-high race, coming in at 74th of over 300 runners was Adren Broussard with a time of 13:25, just a few seconds above the school record for a two-mile run.

Alex Torres, who ran a two-mile race last week, shaved nearly four minutes off his time this week in the two-mile with a time of 17:37.

Also competing in the race were Kohl Poche and Connor Smith.

Next up for the Gators cross-country team will be the LSU High School Invitational 5K Meet at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Sept. 19.
