Ascension Athlete of the Week

This week’s Weekly Citizen Athlete of the Week, brought to you by Rouses Market, is junior Tristen Washington of East Ascension.

Washington was the catalyst for her team as they made easy work of Slidell in the opening round of the playoffs.

In the eighth-seeded Lady Spartans’ emphatic 57-30 victory, Washington led all scorers with 14 points.

She followed it up with a 19-point performance in East Ascension's 63-50 victory over Sulphur in the second round.

With the two wins, East Ascension is now on their way to the state quarterfinals.
