LHSAA releases girl's basketball playoff brackets

The LHSAA has released their girl’s basketball playoff brackets, and all six parish teams have made the field.
In Division IV, Ascension Christian garnered the highest seed at No. 8. The Lady Lions went 15-8 during the regular season and shared the District 6-1A crown with Southern Lab.
Ascension Christian will enjoy a first-round bye, before hosting No. 9 Central Catholic (12-14) next week in the second round.
Also in Division IV, Ascension Catholic earned the No. 21 seed. They’ll hit the road to face No. 12 St. John (15-10) in the opening round. The Lady Eagles beat the Lady Bulldogs, 45-31, when the two teams met back on Feb. 2.
In Class 3A, Donaldsonville also attained the No. 21 seeding.
The Lady Tigers went 14-13 during the regular season. They shared the District 10-3A title with St. James—who they will now visit in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Lady Wildcats went 15-9 during the regular season. They beat Donaldsonville, 63-57, when they met back on Jan. 30.
The Lady Tigers have won five of their last six games.
In Class 5A, East Ascension earned the highest parish seed at No. 8. The Lady Spartans went 19-2 during the regular season and shared the District 5-5A championship with McKinley.
They’re currently on a seven-game winning streak.
In the opening round, they will host No. 25 Slidell (18-12).
Dutchtown (18-13) made the playoff field as the No. 24 seed. The Lady Griffins limp into the postseason losers of four of their final six games.
In the opening round, they’ll go on the road to face No. 9 Sulphur (22-9).
Finally, St. Amant returns to the playoffs for the first time in three years.
The Lady Gators went 16-14 during the regular season and earned the No. 26 seed. In the opening round, they’ll visit No. 7 Natchitoches Central (24-8), a team that won 10 of their final 11 contests.
