With the coming of November, it’s time for another thrilling basketball season in Ascension Parish.

Last year was an exciting one on the hardwood for the parish as seven area programs reached as far as the second round of the playoffs.

With many talented stars returning this season, the action should be fierce once again.

Jamilyn Robinson (Ascension Christian)

It seems like Jamilyn Robinson has been playing at Ascension Christian for a decade. Robinson has started for the Lady Lions since she was in eighth grade.

This will be her final year in the orange and blue.

Last season, she was first-team all-district and All-Parish as she helped lead Ascension Christian to their first ever playoff victory and a trip to the state quarterfinals.

The rest of the parish's basketball players to watch:

Jimel London (East Ascension)

K.J. Franklin (St. Amant)

Daija Harvey (Donaldsonville)

Nic Caldwell (Dutchtown)

Alynzia Morris (East Ascension)

Jamar Barber (Ascension Catholic)

Chelsea Cain (Dutchtown)

Cameron Wire (East Ascension)
