In Dutchtown and St. Amant's district opener at Dutchtown last Thursday night, both teams honored a fallen member of the Lady Griffin family.

They used the motto "Geaux Pink for Claire" as they played the game in honor of former Dutchtown team manager Claire Carline. Last month, Carline was tragically killed in a car accident on her way to school. Her two older sisters, Camille and Colleen, survived the crash but were badly injured.

The Lady Griffins presented them with roses before the start of the third quarter, and both teams met them with somber hugs of comfort and love.
