The postseason honors just keep coming in for East Ascension big man Jacardo Hawkins as he was recently named first-team All-State.
This comes just a week after he was named first-team All-District 5-5A and District 5-5A MVP for the second straight year.
This past season, Hawkins averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game as he helped lead the Spartans to a 22-9 regular season, co-district title and a trip to the state quarterfinals. It was there that East Ascension fell to eventual state champion Natchitoches Central.
In addition to Hawkins, Dutchtown's Christian Thompson was named All-State honorable mention as was St. Amant's Kara Gremillion in girl's basketball.
