East Ascension dominates Broadmoor

The East Ascension boys basketball team rolled out to a 3-0 start last night as they dominated Broadmoor 63-38.

The Spartans jumped on top early with a 13-5 lead and had a huge second period as they outscored Broodmoor 28-7 to take a 41-12 halftime advantage.

Broodmoor outscored East Ascension 24-21 in the second half, but the damage had already been done.

JaVaughn Williams led the way with 17 points, two rebounds and two steals on defense.

Jacardo Hawkins was right behind with 16 points of his own while the Parkview Baptist transfer Jeremy McInnis had 10 points and a team-high six boards . Marvin Roberts was effective as well as he scored 10 points of his own and defensively, he had three steals.

With the win, the Spartans cruised out to the 3-0 start, and they are currently ranked No. 17 in the state's power rankings.

They'll head to St. Amant tonight for the Gold Dome Classic. They hope to be playing in the tournament's championship game on Saturday.
