Parish baseball players to watch in 2018

Last season was a good one for Ascension Parish baseball as all six high-schools finished the regular season at .500 or better, and five teams made the playoffs. With many top stars returning this year, it just might be much of the same.

Austin Bankert (Dutchtown)

In his junior season, Austin Bankert came from nowhere to become the top pitcher on Dutchtown’s staff by the time the year ended. Bankert ended up earning first-team all-district honors, and he was a second-team All-Parish selection. He’s now all set for his senior campaign with the Griffins.
