Ascension has carried itself well over the years in proving that it’s one of the best parishes in the state, when it comes to baseball.

The area always features a wealth of talent. Much of that talent will find its way to the next level.

This season looks to be no different.

As Ascension’s baseball teams open their 2017 schedules, here is one of the parish players to watch this year:

Ryan Williams (East Ascension)

East Ascension will have a strong outfield this season, and much of it has to do with the return of senior Ryan Williams. As a first-year starter in 2016, Williams emerged as one of the Spartans’ most consistent hitters. He earned both first-team all-district and first-team All-Parish honors in East Ascension’s run to the playoffs.

Landon Clifton (Ascension Catholic)
