BATON?ROUGE?– Another season, another undefeated record for Dutchtown.

The Griffins, ranked second in the state in Class 5A for much of the year, put the finishing touches Friday night on a 10-0 mark and another district title.

Dutchtown held off Catholic (3-7, 3-2) with a 42-6 win at Olympia Stadium. The Bears had a chance to take a share of the District 5-5A championship, but the Griffins left no doubt that they were the top team in their league for the second straight year.

This week, Dutchtown enters the opening round of the playoffs. The Griffins have their sights set on a championship after last year’s playoff run which included two postseason wins.

Dutchtown received the No. 4 seed in the Class 5A state playoffs. The Griffins will host No. 29 Ponchatoula (6-4) Friday.

The top three seeds ahead of Dutchtown are St. Paul’s, Jesuit and Byrd.
