THIBODAUX – Donaldsonville star quarterback Devon Breaux propelled the Tigers to a 28-27 win in District 7-3A play Friday night against E.D. White.

Breaux, a Tulane commitment and the state’s leading passer, found his way to the end zone for the game-winning two-point conversion in overtime.

The victory-clinching play capped a passing performance that fell just short of 300 yards and a touchdown. Breaux also ran for nearly 80 yards and three scores.

The game was tied 20-20 at the end of regulation. The Cardinals scored first in overtime and added the extra point, but the Tigers answered when Tre Brown reached the end zone on a 3-yard run. Breaux then flipped across the goal line to give the Tigers the victory on the conversion.

Donaldsonville improved to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in district. The Tigers will host Port Allen on Friday.
