BATON ROUGE?– Offensive fireworks highlighted the District 5-5A meeting of St. Amant and Woodlawn Friday night.

The homestanding Panthers halted a late scoring threat by the Gators to hang on to a 39-33 win.

Woodlawn held off Gators running back Trey Washington on fourth-and-4 at the Panther 24-yard line. Washington, who scored twice and ran for more than 100 yards for the Gators in the game, was tackled behind the line of scrimmage, allowing the Panthers to burn the remaining 40 seconds.
