Bogalusa handles Ascension Christian

Bogalusa took a 41-0 homecoming shutout win over Ascension Christian at Lewis V. Murray Jr. Stadium Friday night.

The Lumberjacks of Class 3A was able to score on the visiting Lions, though the home team turned the ball over four times.

The Class 1A Lions fell to 0-3, while the Lumberjacks posted their first win to improve to a 1-2 record.

Darrin Holmes ran for a touchdown and returned a kickoff for another score. Trevonne Mingo caught a pair of touchdown passes. Chris Lowery also recorded one.

Bogalusa coach Craig Jones credited Ascension Christian’s effort. Coach Brian Kinchen’s Lions relied on players to man positions on both sides of the ball.
