Ascension Catholic earns first win
Ascension Catholic used a stingy defense and a quick offense to record the first victory of the season, a 28-3 win over False River.
The Bulldogs scored 14 points in the first quarter after spotting the Gators a field goal on their opening drive.
ACHS led 14-3 after the first quarter as senior quarterback Collin Rowland threw a pair of touchdown passes. The first was a 23-yard strike to senior wide receiver Jake Lejeune. Then he found senior Robert Landry from 10 yards out.
In the second quarter, ACHS added a touchdown when Rowland found senior wide receiver Alex Olivier from 55 yards away.
Rowland kept for a 5-yard touchdown carry in the fourth.
The ACHS offense compiled 292 total yards as Rowland went 13-of-21 passing for 184 yards.
The Bulldogs rushed for 108 yards with sophomore Kenneth Dominique and freshman Patrick Butler leading the way.
