St. Amant surprised Dutchtown with a late touchdown to win the third game of the annual Ascension jamboree Friday night in Gonzales.

St. Amant quarterback Tyler Guillory hit Tylor Gonzales on a two-point conversion pass with 19 seconds remaining to give the Gators an 8-7 win in the 15-minute game.

The two connected on a 12-yard touchdown pass to cap a 10-play scoring drive. The Gators converted three third downs, including the last one that resulted in the score.

Dutchtown struck first in the contest. Quarterback Mason Nickens found wide receiver Shelby Christy on a 34-yard touchdown pass with 9:19 to go.

Guillory then led the Gators on a drive, which included a diving catch for a first down by Madison Nickens. The quarterback also ran for a first down for the Gators later in the drive.

Dutchtown tightened defensively when Landon Collins stuffed a run on fourth down from the 1-yard line.

Late in the game, the Griffins tried to get up the field with little time to spare. Nickens threw a screen pass to Torrance Mosley who brought the ball to midfield. Time ran out on the Griffins as Nickens kept on a run for the last play.
