Ascension Parish teams set for annual football jamboree

The four public high schools in Ascension Parish recently received checks from LeBlanc’s Food Stores as sponsorship of the annual high school football jamboree.

The jamboree kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday at East Ascension High's Spartan Stadium.

The teams will play one 15-minute period.

The action begins with host East Ascension of Class 5A taking on Donaldsonville, a team that moved up to Class 3A this season.

East Ascension will then face District 5-5A foe Dutchtown.

In the third match, Dutchtown will meet another district opponent in St. Amant.

The action concludes with St. Amant squaring off with Donaldsonville.

In other jamborees, Ascension Catholic will participate in the All-Catholic Jamboree at Redemptorist in Baton Rouge. The Bulldogs will face Catholic of Pointe Coupee at 6 p.m. Thursday. Teams will play two 12-minute halves.
