Staff reports
Dutchtown's Landon Collins tackles a Westgate player during a playoff game last season.

ESPNU 150 defensive back Landon Collins of Dutchtown High was named the 7on tournament’s most valuable player.

The 6-foot, 210-pound safety won the SPARQ ratings national championship on Wednesday, setting a new scoring record in the process.

A standout defender and return specialist, Collins will add running back to his repertoire this season for the Griffins.

He lists LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and Texas as his top schools. He plans on taking official visits to each campus before making an announcement.
