Dutchtown offensive lineman Colby Crysel (66) celebrates with linebacker David?Lentz (42) and offensive lineman Ryan Hugenel Friday.

Top-seeded Dutchtown will face No. 16 Brother Martin Saturday at 7 p.m. at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans.

Dutchtown (11-0) held off No. 32 Covington with a 35-27 win Friday in the bi-district round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Landon Collins came away with a late interception for the Griffins, thwarting any hopes of a Covington rally.

Until that point, the Lions (5-6) played as if they had nothing to lose, frequently going for fourth downs and trying trick plays.

Dutchtown standout running back Effrem Reed scored three touchdowns in the game. He finished with 231 rushing yards.

Griffins quarterback Leon Blouin added 93 rushing yards, and 65 passing yards. He also scored two touchdowns.

Brother Martin (8-3) took a 35-14 win over Carencro (5-5) in the first round.
