LSU football has a new punter.

Jay Bramblett, who was a starter at Notre Dame, announced his commitment to the Tigers on Monday. He entered the transfer portal in early January.

“Heading down to the bayou!” Bramblett wrote on Twitter. “Couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity! Geaux Tigers!”

Avery Atkins, LSU's former starting punter, declared for the NFL Draft after the 2021 season.

Bramblett, a product of Hillcrest High in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was Notre Dame’s starting punter since 2019, his freshman season.

He averaged 44.1 yards per punt last season, including a career-long of 72 yards in a win over Wisconsin was the longest punt by an Irish player since a 79-yarder in 1998.
