Christy transfers to UL-Lafayette
Former Dutchtown standout Shelby Christy is on his way back to Louisiana after announcing via Twitter that he is transferring from Mississippi State to UL-Lafayette.
Christy got plenty of attention from college scouts while at Dutchtown. During his senior season, the highly-coveted receiver had 39 catches for 663 yards and five touchdowns while being named all-district.
He signed with Mississippi State in 2013 and red-shirted his freshman year. Last season, he was dealt a major setback when he tore his ACL at the start of fall camp.
Christy will now join a Cajuns team that went 9-4 last season en route to winning their fourth straight New Orleans Bowl.
