LSU senior running back Terrence Magee has been named to the 2014 Doak Walker Award Watch List.

The award is presented annually to the nation’s top college running back.

He was also named preseason second-team All-SEC as an all-purpose player.

A native of Franklinton, Magee burst onto the scene in the first game of his junior season against TCU in the Cowboys Classic. He rushed for then-career highs of 95 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries to help lead LSU to victory.

Magee earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors against Texas A&M when he carried the ball 13 times for a career-best 149 yards and two touchdowns.

Magee finished the 2013 season with 626 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, along with six receptions for 49 yards and two kickoff returns for 45 yards.

Nominees for the Doak Walker Award will continue to be added to the watch list through the end of October. The PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors will name the semifinalists on Nov. 18, and the award finalists will be announced on Nov. 24.

The recipient of the 2014 Doak Walker Award will be announced live on ESPN during The Home Depot College Football Awards show on Dec. 11.
