LSU senior center Elliott Porter is one of 64 players selected to the 2014 Rimington Trophy Watch List.

The award is presented annually to college football’s most outstanding center.

A native of Waggaman, Porter started 12 games last season at center and helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for a single-season school record with 37 rushing touchdowns.

LSU also became the first team in Southeastern Conference history to produce two 1,000-yard receivers (Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Jeremy Hill) in the same season.

Porter blocked for quarterback Zach Mettenberger--who finished third in LSU single-season history with 3,082 passing yards and 22 touchdowns.

Porter played 787 total snaps in 2013 and finished with 61 knockdowns, which included a career-high eight in LSU’s 34-10 victory against Texas A&M.

LSU has produced one Rimington Trophy winner as All-American Ben Wilkerson took home the award after his senior season in 2004.

The winner of the trophy is selected by determining the consensus All-America center pick from the Walter Camp, Sporting News and Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) All-America teams.

The 2014 winner will be announced at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show held in December.
