The LSU women’s basketball team spent part of last weekend serving the Baton Rouge community with the Bethany Outreach program in Baker.

The Lady Tigers taught drills and played games with close to 15 inner-city children. Afterwards, the team shared a motivational message and told the kids to work hard and never give up on their dreams.

“I know I wish I would have had something like this when I was younger coming up,” guard Raigyne Moncrief said. “It’s good to be out here with the kids, help them out and teach them some little things so when they grow up, they’re excited about playing basketball or whatever they decide to do. It’s a blessing to make an impact. We like seeing them smile and laugh and enjoy themselves.”

LSU has collected four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by a pair of NCAA Sweet 16 trips under Caldwell. The Lady Tigers also have secured a trio of 20-plus win seasons and have reached at least 10 SEC victories three times with Caldwell at the helm.
